Division of Vehicles to open new Lawrence driver’s license office

TOPEKA - On Friday, April 5th, the Division of Vehicles will close the Lawrence office as it moves into its new location, 1035 North 3rd Street, Suite 119, a few doors away from the current location.
The new office will open on April 8th with some noticeable changes. The biggest, being the size of the new office at 7,000 square feet.
"With the new space and employment of six additional people, we will be able to adequately and efficiently help people coming in for a driver's license," said David Harper, Director of Vehicles and Property Valuation. "We will also be adding an online wait-line system with a self-check-in kiosk.
In 2018, the Lawrence office processed about 30,000 transactions.
The Department of Revenue will host a grand opening on Thursday, April 18th at 10 am.
